Do you remember Kylie’s Hit?
no it’s not ‘ I can’t get you out a my head’
it’s ‘I’m in luurve’ although I can’t get it out of my head!
I have been continuing the painting of the chest of drawers, it is looking very French! I have used Autentico’s French Grey to ‘line’ the drawers and for accent. The chest of drawers has some mouldings around the drawers and around the top and bottom edges, it is on these areas that I have used the french grey. I have painted over the corfu white and then distressed through. The results are terrific!
I was going to take some photo’s, but got the camera all set up only to find the lens has a scratch on it, grrr, the camera is now unusable! I do have another one (belongs to one of my daughters) although it is so technical I can barely use the thing. I will have to enlist some help from her
Maybe there will be some photo’s tomorrow………………
Today the sun is shining and I’m using Autentico Vintage Corfu White on a very pretty walnut chest of drawers. The colour is so lovely, it has put me a great feel good mood, that I could be in Corfu!
The paint is going on like a dream, it is so smooth with a great matt chalky finish, I am officially in love with this paint and the fabulous colour range.
In between painting the chest of drawers I am finishing off the waxing on a three drawer / door pine dresser base. I have painted this in Autentico Vintage Canvas, another really great colour, one which I know is going to be a colour addiction of mine. Inside I have painted it Autetncio Vintage Lavender, the two colours have worked so well together. It has been clear waxed all over and I am just giving a dark wax treatment to specific areas, to create a lovely aged look.
I will post up some photo’s in the next day or so, sorry I haven’t taken any before shot’s, I’m always so eager to get going that I always forget.
I have had a busy day here in the attic getting my shop ready for it’s grande opening day!
I must admit to being a bargain hunting anorak and for several weeks now I have been busy buying bits and pieces for my soon to open shop. A couple of weekends ago on a reasonably sunny Sunday (hubby was travelling – China) my friend Shirley called in and tempted me to a car boot sale. Although I didn’t really take too much tempting.
I had a great find a very beaten up old hand crafted bookcase It had lovely ‘rustic’ appeal and was smothered in dark varnished. It was just what I was looking for! A great display for my Autentico paint! After agreeing a bargain price of £15 we managed to get the stall holders son to carry to Shirley’s car. Getting in the car was another matter! It has happily sat outside of the garage (no room inside) until today.
Today I have painted it in Autentico Vintage Lavender mixed with the Corfu White, making a really lovely shade which has totally transformed the bookcase into fabulous shelving perfect for displaying my stock of Autentico paint. I wish I had taken some photo’s of it before I painted it………………
My Little Vintage Attic is based in Sevenoaks, Kent, and managed by Elaine.
In between getting out endless orders I have been continuing with the painting of my bureau. As you can see from the pictures I am painting this is in what has become my my signature colours for bureaux. An aged white and pale blue. The white is Autentico’s Snow White to which I have added some other colours to tone it down and Autentico’s Clear Clouds again I have added colours, but this time to brighten and lighten, I can never resist mixing and dabbling!
Here are some shots of the drawers, not in their finished state and I must add, I have only painted them so far.
The main body of the bureau is drying nicely and I will posting pictures of this next time!
